![]() Owning a swimming pool is undoubtedly, in the UK, a luxury and pools require spending money on their upkeep. They are, however, a fabulous addition to any home, and an outdoor swimming pool, again, in the UK, leads to only one question – how can it be kept warm efficiently? In this day and age it's important that every swimming pool owner considers their carbon footprint. The problem is that sometimes in doing this there is a possibility that you make a compromise on what you are trying to achieve. Choosing to use a Heatinverter heat pump to heat your pool or spa will not compromise the temperature you are trying to maintain. Like any heater, as long as the correct size is selected, the required water temperature will be maintained throughout your swimming season. Using a Heatinverter heat pump can be up to 6 times more energy efficient than other conventional types of heaters, which use either electricity, gas or oil for their fuel. The Heatinverter uses a rectifier to convert the incoming AC current to DC and then uses pulse-width modulation of the DC current within an inverter (electrical) to produce AC current of a desired frequency. As the speed of a brushless motor is synchronised to the frequency of the AC current it is thus possible for the Heatinverter compressor to be run at different speeds. A microcontroller then samples the ambient air temperature and adjusts the speed of the compressor appropriately. For more information about the range of Heatinverters on offer from Fairlocks, please do not hesitate to contact Paul directly.
