A swimming pool cover not only offers an invaluable safety feature for any swimming pool owner, but a good quality cover will fit any shape or size pool, and can also offer solar heating to ensure the swimming pool remains the optimum temperature while it is not in use.

A Covrex automatic swimming pool cover, is constructed with expanded PVC foam and has additional thermal properties compared to other alternative materials. Such as hollow PVC slats with old type end caps.

Typical designs of swimming pool cover construction
  • A traditional pit houses the swimming pool cover at the end of the swimming pool shell, usually covered with decking in line with the swimming pool surround. This is the easiest  method to install and the most practical for maintenance.
  • A floor pit houses the swimming pool cover under the floor of the swimming pool, which can be trickier to install, as it requires digging deeper to incorporate the space required for the cover. The cover is accessed by a hatch in the swimming pool floor and would require a swimming pool engineer who can dive to maintain the cover mechanism.
  • A cave houses the swimming pool cover within the swimming pool shell but to one end, to there is nothing visible at deck level. The cover mechanism is accessed through panels in one end wall of the pool and can be tricky to access. This would also require a diving engineer.

With any form cover housing, an automatic cover should be easily accessible to a swimming pool engineer and the mechanism should be easy for the user to close the swimming pool, at the touch of a button.
